Wine Country Thanksgiving

#GOWINETASTING

Friday, November 23 – Sunday, November 25, 2018

Thirty-six years ago, fewer than a dozen Willamette Valley wineries started the Wine Country Thanksgiving tradition. This year, more than 140 wineries throughout the region will open their cellars and tasting rooms for special events during the Thanksgiving Weekend to celebrate friends, family and the completion of harvest. Join us for this unique Oregon tradition to kick off the holiday season with special tastings, food pairings, live music, holiday discounts and more. Each winery celebrates the festive weekend with its own flair. Discover what each participating winery is planning for Thanksgiving weekend:

Willamette Cares Food Share

The holiday season is also a time for giving back. Our wine community comes together during the months of November and December for the annual Willamette Cares Food Share in partnership with the Oregon Food Bank network, providing emergency food and resources for neighbors in need.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

For more than a decade, the Willamette Valley Wineries Association has been honored to work with Portland-based artist John Fisher for original Wine Country Thanksgiving art.

John pairs his artistic vision with years of graphic design experience to create inspiring, sophisticated landscapes and figurative work. His landscapes have a definitive sense of place, allowing you to feel the emotion and mood of the day with his intuitive use of color and brushwork. The shifting force of weather has a profound impact on his work and ability to capture the soul of the Pacific Northwest landscape.

This year, John was inspired by the Sandhill Cranes that travel through the Willamette Valley every year. Learn more about Sandhill Cranes here.
