Welcome to Rosé Week in the Willamette Valley! Click on a wine of your choice below to purchase it directly from the winery.
Each week beginning April 28 and culminating on May 25 (Memorial Day), we will be featuring a selection of very special Willamette Valley wines on a theme, with a direct link to purchase. It’s all part of Memorial Weekend from Wine Country.
While rosé has a beloved reputation as the perfect patio sipper and summer party wine, many people overlook its potential when it comes to food pairings. Thanks to the natural high acid in Willamette Valley rosé, it boasts a refreshing “zip” that functions like lemons and limes in cooking, enlivening any dish and bringing out the subtle flavors of your food. It doesn’t have high alcohol or big tannins (and at least in the case of Willamette Valley rosé, it’s typically not sweet) so there’s nothing to compete with your food or complicate the pairing. Best of all, rosé is a surprisingly worthy partner for foods that are notoriously hard to pair: egg dishes, artichokes, and even asparagus. No wonder it’s a classic brunch staple!
