Journey to France with Salem Symphonic Winds for a Bastille Day celebration at Youngberg Hill in McMinnville. John Skelton will conduct the band in a selection of light French patriotic and popular music, with Jeff Witt joining the band on vocal selections. You might even be whisked off to the Folies Bergère and enticed to join in the Can Can, descend to the depths of the Paris Opera for an encounter with the Phantom of the Opera, or with the fugitive Jean Valjean from Les Misérables.
July 14, the French National Day is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a turning point in the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790.
